Why do you need a SWL Call Sign?
Unique. I used to go by "GVZ" or "SWL FROM OL62". This is not unique -- I'm not the only one who listens in OL62, and "GVZ" could easily be interpreted as a call sign suffix;
Valid. To register for sites such as eqsl,hrdlog,you need your call sign, as a SWLer you can only use the SWARL identification number;
Is it necessary for hams that already have a certificate to operate an amateur radio station?
There are different scenarios:
It is necessary if you are not yet able to operate a shortwave radio station.
If you've been able to operate a shortwave radio, this article won't help you much.
Let's get to the point now
First open the site https://www.swarl.org/ and you can see the line "Get SWL Call Sign Now!", then just write it like I did (here is the application for my mother)
Enter all of the above in English and click Preview Application.
Make sure there are no errors in the information you wrote here, if there are, click Back to edit, if not, click Send Application.
Seeing this picture means success! Wait up to three weeks and you'll have your call sign!
My SWL call sign arrived eight days after I sent in my application.
